Origin: Quebec, Canada

It all started in 1996 when five friends gathered to play metal music. The initial members of the band were: Vincent Roy (bass), Pascal Barriault (drums), Jean-Simon Roy (vocals), Daniel Gingras and Sébastien Lessard (guitars). The first line-up change occurred when Dany Laliberté replaced Jean-Simon as vocalist. Soon after, the band name Cryptic Spell was replaced with a more suitable name: Blinded by Faith.

In the fall of '97, Danny Émond entered in the band as keyboardist and the musical orientation of BBF moved to more melodic pieces. In June '98, Dany Laliberté was replaced with new vocalist Tommy Demers. BBF was now ready to play live, the first show was in Quebec city in December '98. After several gigs, Pascal left the band, and BBF found drummer Hugo Pelletier one month later.

In December '99, the band recorded their first demo entitled "Veiled hideousness". The CD received good critics and an awesome response from the audience. The first edition was sold-out within 8 months. In 2000, BBF did extensive promotion for this demo: many interviews and shows all across the province of Quebec. The band reached the finals at two contests: the "Polliwog" in Montreal and "Envol et Macadam" in Quebec. These contests gave them good publicity and enabled them to spread their name on a larger scale.

In November 2000, Sébastien left the band and was soon after replaced by Pascal Côté. In the summer of 2001 Julien Marcotte replaced Hugo on drums. After all these line-up changes, the band finished composing the songs for their first official album, "Under An Occult Sun". In August 2002, BBF entered New Rock Studios in Quebec city for a 2-month recording session. Winter 2002, BBF signs with Galy Records. The album release is set for April 2003.

Recorded at L’Imperial in Quebec City (Blinded By Faith hometown), one of the best live venue this city has to offer. The DVD feature a dynamic mixed visually with the multi cameras effect (seven cameras) and a top notch live sound. The live CD contain 11 songs covering the band back catalogue as well as 2 exclusive unreleased songs from their upcoming new album. Recorded by New Rock Studios, mixed & mastered by Yannick St-Amand (Martyr, Neuraxis, Despised Icon).

Veiled Hideousness

Veiled Hideousness, the long out of print debut of Blinded by Faith re-mastered and re-issued with live bonus tracks. This CD has helped establish Blinded by Faith as one of the best bands that Quebec (Canada) has to offer. Since then, BBF has gathered together a new legion of fans with its successful album Under An Occult Sun (2003) and its top notch live performances.
