Biography

Origin: Paris, France

March 1996, after 2 years of existence and many line-up changes, Fate begins its search for a new lead guitarist. Nico and Stef meet David, who eventually joins the band. Fate is now complete and records their first demo " Distress "(old school brutal death) at Melody Studio in Dreux.

In April 1998, Fate change guitar player, Stef is replaced by Denis. As a result of this new member, the band evolve even more into a brutal style of music. Soon after, their five song CD " Va Te Faire Enculer " sees the light of day in October 1998. With over 500 copies distributed, and with the help of many distros, fanzines and underground radio stations, their name is quickly spread in the underground scene of Paris.

The year 2000 is a big turning point for Fate. With the arrival of a fifth member, Djony (scratches, samples), a new dimension is given to the group. In April of that year, after two years of song writing and live performances, Fate is ready to record their first album titled " No Sense " at BMT studio (Didier Tillit). Their compositions become more mature, brutal and their concepts fit perfectly with their social political lyrics. Due to this album, Fate's reputation is solidified as innovators in the metal scene. This deathcore album (brutal death, grindcore, hardcore) alternates between ultra fast and complex tempos with very guttural voices and mosh beats that devastate with scratches added as well….all this mixed with inventive breakdowns!

2003, Fate part ways with their dj (Djony) on good terms and redirect their style into something more personal and destructive. September 2003. The album Odyssey is released internationally through the label Galy Records. This album of 17 songs is a retrospective on the first 10 years of the odyssey of FATE, and compiles the following recordings : The Magic World Box (2003), No Sense (2000), Va Te Faire Enculer (1998). Odyssey displays a conceptual layout at certain points abstemious and executed with a refined style. This layout is very adventurous for a band as brutal as Fate. The groups history and evolution is to be continued…
