Horfixion is a thrash/death metal quartet from St-Boniface (Québec, Canada) influenced by bands such as
Death,
Slayer &
Sepultura. The band was officially formed in 1993 by Samuel Landry. Initially going under the name "Horrific Illusion", the band began by playing cover songs. Soon after, Richard Gélinas (bass) and Alexandre Noel (drums) were recruited and the band changed it's name to
Horfixion and started to write their own compositions.
In January 1999,
Horfixion recorded their first demo titled "Let The Nightmare Begin…". In early 2000, they recorded a 4 songs mini cd titled "RAGE". At the end of the year 2000, the band recorded it's first album titled "DISYNCHRONIZE". Recorded at Victor Studio (Montréal) by Martin Ferland with the help of Daniel Mongrain (
Martyr).
Begining in 2002, Kevin St-Yves (guitar) left the band and was replaced by Simon Auger (lead guitar). Alexandre Noël also left the group due to a shoulder injury. In July of the same year,
Horfixion entered the studio with Patrice Hamelin (
Martyr) on drums as a special guest to record it's second album titled "Instigators Of Chaos". The album was recorded and produced by Francis Perron at Notes studio.
