Origin: Montreal, Canada
Formed in 1997, Magister Dixit as perfected its blend of brutal and melodic black metal filled with epic stories, fantasies of distorted wars and blood stained episodes.
Combining the forces of W.Solstice (guitar and vocals), Baurzae (drums), Fog (guitar) and Ekinox (bass), the band recorded its first demo "The epoch of unblessed tragedies". In the year 2000, Magister Dixit added Syriak (keyboards) from Unexpect to its line-up and recorded its debut album "Andar And The Curse of Azagath". Containing eleven powerful songs packed with catchy rhythms and evil landscapes, the album was well received within the black metal community.
Following the departure of Baurzae and Syriak, W.Solstice decided to concentrate exclusively on vocals. After recruiting Infurya (drums) from Anhkrehg and Ghor (guitar) in 2002, Magister Dixit put the keyboards aside and began to work on its most aggressive material to date. As a result of this new corrupted union, the band recorded its second opus entitled "Infernal Martyrism" which will be available July 20th on Galy Records. Prepare to suffer.
Will appeal to fans of Gorgoroth, Dissection, Enslaved, Abigor, Mork Gryning, etc…
