Canadian death-thrash metal act TORN WITHIN officially formed in the winter of 1998. 5 songs were written and arranged during this year. 1999 saw the recording of a 5 song demo, recorded at Victor Studio(Cryptopsy, Kataklysm). This demo was handed to local media and garnered some positive reviews and reactions. Several songs also appeared on various local compilations (Galy, Neoblast) throughout the next 2 years.

2003 saw the beginning of the writing process for what would become their first official album. With more experience under their belt, the songwriting and muscianship had grown tremendously. February 2004, with all songs now written, TORN WITHIN entered Wild Sound Studio with engineer Yannick St-Amand (Neuraxis, Ion Dissonance, Martyr) to record the album "Allied With Bitterness". Containing 9 new songs, with 4 bonus tracks from previous recordings, the album demonstrates a perfect blend of intense death metal and melodic thrash. With a firm grasp on quality metal, GALY RECORDS will unleash the album for the summer of 2004. "This new dawn will see bloodshed!"
