GHOULUNATICS new album Cryogénie available now

View the Band's Page
The Ghoulunatics have a unique musical imprint, going from all-out rock n'roll to screaming metal with the intensity of punk rock. Produced by Pierrre Rémillard (Cryptopsy, Krisiun) at famed Wild Studio, Cryogénie offers a more straightforward approach than previous albums, which leads to incredibly swift rhythms and a more focused intensity. Here, the Ghouls mega-groove reaches its peak.

This fifth studio album shows a musical continuity, but this time the audacity is found in the lyrics, for these ten songs are written in the tongue of Molière.
12-page full-color booklet.

Galy Records is proud to announce the signing of Atheretic & Shaolin

Having earned their experience by shaking frantically the Quebec metal fans during the last few years, Atheretic now propel their complex and technical extreme metal around the globe. Of similar cerebral caliber to Gorguts' Obscura combined with the physical intensity of Cryptopsy, "Apocalyptic Nature Fury" is a thunderous attack of extreme metal and outstanding technicality. Barriers of neuron-damaging guitar and bass riffs, multiple frenzied tempos and creatively challenging vocal lines far beyond your wildest imagination. A discipline both athletic and mathematical; in other words, physical science in its purest sense!. Produced by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index).

Check out two songs (rough mix / unmastered version) HERE.

Available May 02nd 2006

Born a little over a year ago, Shaolin has rapidly earned the respect and support of its peers here in Quebec by its implication in the scene and most of all, by its ability to combine technical playing, solid melodies and insane mosh mayhem into every song. The band's debut "Gaining Freedom at The Expense of Virtue" is another concrete example of why bands from Quebec are turning so many heads lately. For fans of Between The Buried And Me, Misery Signals and Unearth.

Denis was an amazing musician and a very nice and humble man. I started listening to metal around the same time their album "War and Pain" came out, so I grew up listening to Voivod and I still look up to them to this day. Denis gave us a musical legacy that I will cherish forever.

[MP3] Isolated Through Multiplicity

"their flourishing jazz breaks make constant appearances. No band has been able to have such prominence in this kind of fusion since Cynic. Atheist were good, but Coprofago do it with so much ease that it's almost like jazz and metal drip from their amps. The ambience and atmosphere behind it is awe-inspiring and completely addictive. Pick this CD up at all costs." - Uranium Music

"Strong and heavy riffs in addition of really aggressive vocals, powerful drums with a lot of breaks, and above all technical solos with a lot of Jazz influences. That's the recipe of Coprofago's music and believe me it's good. It's original and fresh and this is one of the big surprises of the year." 8.5 - Metal Storm

"Unorthodox Creative Criteria, oozes with the unbelievable talent this Chilean quartet brings to the listener. "The Inborn Mechanics" demonstrates Coprofago's expertise at turning turbulent metal chaos into laid-back contemporary jazz. Interview:
Into-Obscurity.com

Reviews:

''one of the greatest death metal albums in years, and perhaps the most brutal and equally technical release of 2005.'' - Uranium Music

''If it's true that Montreal is assembling an army to take over the metal scene, Beneath The Massacre may very well be it's atomic bomb. These guys are unforgiving, uncompromising and unstoppable.'' - Into-Obscurity.com

The magnificent, show-off guitar work brings a sense of melody, along with the prog hook, to elevate grind above itself and to set the band apart from its genre mates. Luscious. - FishComCollective

Add Beneath the Massacre to the list of impressive Canadian bands that can rip you apart with their brutality and shred your mind with mind boggling intricacy. DigitalMetal

insanely fast death metal that radiates with oodles of talent. Everything about this record is blistering: the soloing, drumming, grooving, and growling. - MetalReview.com

The dive-bomb approach taken in album standout 'Profitable Killcount' is akin to a machine gun tearing through a crowd of wannabes who can't fathom music being this daunting, elaborate, yet so heavy. - 4.5/5 Snaggletooth

Galy Recs own metalcore act Disphoria will share the stage with Bleeding Through on February 9th in Paris!

Here are some quotes taken from reviews of their album Sleep and Fly Away…

Slipping and slamming into thrash grooves and speed games that recall harsher Shadows Fall and more malevolent Disfear. - David Perri

Disphoria is certainly an accomplished addition to the canon of underground metalcore and worth it for fans of said genre to check them out. - FishComCollective

Intensity pushed to the max! - Darkest Hours

When this band plays heavy, they're one of the most crushing metalcore outfits I've ever heard. Even their use of melody is appropriate and effective. - Into Obscurity

Une album incontournable pour tous les amateurs de MetalCore. - 17/20 Violent Solutions

Augury will be part of the Northern Lights Festival 2005 alongside label mate Unexpect, headliner Impaled Nazarene and seven other bands. For more info:

Augury's online interview is now available on [Into-Obscurity]

Augury has also been named new artist of the month for October on www.thedarkesthours.com and are artist of the month for December on www.xwarp.net. The band his also mentioned in Tate Bengtson's (Unrestrained! Magazine) top 15 of 2005

Here are some quotes taken from reviews of their debut album Concealed:

7/10 BW&BK
9/10 Terrorizer
5.5/6 Metallian
5/5 Metal-Rules
8/10 Unrestrained!
88% Darkest Hours
10/10 Ottawa Metal
10/10 Ontario Metal
9/10 Capital of Metal
8.5/10 Metal Observer
18/20 Violent Solutions
8.5/10 No Official Capacity

Tout ce beau monde réuni ne pouvait qu'engendrer une petite merveille et c'est désormais chose faite avec ce premier album qui n'a que bien peu d'égal dans l'histoire du métal. - 18/20 Violent Solutions

Once again, the province of Quebec, Canada has given us another lesson in metal. It doesn't matter what style of extreme metal you're talking about, you can name a band from this region as a top example of it. Augury are no exception... "Concealed" is as intelligent as extreme metal gets. - Into Obscurity

This certainly is as melodic as it is heavy. - FishComCollective

Fans of extreme metal will fall in love at first listen if they love complexity, weird structures and beautiful melodies mixed up with powerfull brutality! - 88% Darkest Hours

Concealed has so much to offer with each spin. An enjoyable journey into metal for sure. - 8/10 Unrestrained!

This has quite easily topped all others as my best CD of 2004. Incredibly unique and it features an amazing innovativeness that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. - 10/10 Ontario Metal

Taking symphonic and technical death metal to epic proportions, "Concealed" leverages Augury's inherent progressive leanings into one of the year's most thorough, well-choreographed blends of black, death, and folk metal melody. - Uranium Music

SOULSCAR - have developed a slicing hybrid of modern thrash, death and heavy metal to a savage level. After paving a devastating path through metal's underground with "Character Assassination", their critically acclaimed debut on Galy Records, Soulscar strike back with their second release "Victim Impact Statement", a phenomenal collection of top-notch memorable metal anthems. Some songs thrash by at lightning speed, others demand attention with addictive harmonies, still others wreck necks with amazing metal riffing force. Picture the catchiness of In Flames and Arch Enemy mixed with Carnal Forge's high level of intensity. In stores October 12th 2004.

ECLIPSE ETERNAL - We are very proud to announce the addition of Eclipse Eternal to the Galy Records roster. Their epic black metal with heavy hitting symphonies will prove that they are not just another black metal band. We are convinced that Eclipse Eternal will contribute to the music scene by bringing something new and innovating. The band's debut album Reign Of The Unholy Blackened Empire was produced by Glen Drover (Eidolon) and mastered by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond). Look for it this October.

Eclipse Eternal's vocalist Voldamares Gollum had this to say about the signing: "We are proud to have joined forces and become a part of the Arsenal of Galy Records. We are honored to be in such elite company. Beware the time of Transformation for it is near. The troops have gathered, the storm is coming, the unholy blackened empire has arisen from ashes."
